Private Practice

In addition to expertise in inflammatory rheumatic diseases including rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, spondyloarthritis and connective tissue diseases such as lupus, scleroderma, Sjögren's syndrome and myositis, I have had an interest in fibromyalgia and ME/ chronic fatigue syndrome for a number of years. I chaired the British Society for Rheumatology National Guideline group on the hot swollen joint incluing septic arthritis. In August 2007, I set up The Fatigue Clinic, at Keats House, London Bridge. My colleagues include occupational therapists and cognitive behavioural therapists, and we offer treatment along the lines advocated by the 2021 NICE guidelines on management of ME/CFS.  My role is to confirm or refute the diagnosis, and discuss therapeutic options. I have continued to work in private practice since September 2023, focussing on the management of ME/CFS.

Medicolegal Practice

I have been assessing medicolegal personal injury cases since 2005, and currently assess slightly more defendants than claimants. I am happy to see claimants at my rooms at The Harley Street Clinic, 16 Devonshire Street, or where appropriate at the claimant’s home or a nearby hotel for those unwilling or unable to travel to London.

I have assessed over 600 personal injury cases affecting claimants with various sorts of inflammatory arthritis, as well as those relating to fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome, spinal pain, post fracture pain and various other chronic pain syndromes, as well as chronic fatigue syndrome.

Since 2019, I have been preparing clinical negligence medicolegal reports in the same areas as well as in septic arthritis.

I prepare claimant / defendant / joint reports in a ratio of roughly 20/70/10.

Terms and Conditions are available on request.
