Mr. William Eardley

Will is an academic orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist interest in trauma surgery and fracture fixation failure, nonunion and osteomyelitis. He is responsible for hip fracture care in England and Wales as the Surgical Clinical lead for the National Hip Fracture Database.

Will is involved in benchmarking surgical quality as Chair of the Specialty Surgical Board of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He helps coordinate United Kingdom Orthopaedic Trauma and co-author BOAST guidelines.

Will is involved in benchmarking Major Trauma Care and open fracture data collection nationally as the Orthopaedic representative on the National Major Trauma Network.

Will regularly reports on injury and infection and complication of injury and surgery. Following instruction he sees patients in a timely manner and returns reports within a week. His qualifications and rehabilitation awareness along with the positions held enable an overview of care with authority. He is fully conversant with reporting regulations.
