Ms Jhumur Pati is a highly accomplished consultant urological surgeon based in London, widely recognised for her expertise and professionalism in the field of adult urology. As one of the very few female specialists in this complex and predominantly male-dominated area of medicine, she brings both distinction and representation to her field. Her exceptional skills, compassionate approach, and dedication to patient care have made her a respected figure in both clinical and academic circles.
Ms Pati's clinical proficiency spans the full breadth of urological care. She treats a diverse range of conditions, including urinary tract infections, prostatitis, haematuria (the presence of blood in urine), benign prostatic enlargement, testicular pain, a variety of scrotal conditions, Peyronie's disease, male infertility, and various forms of urological cancer. Her work in oncology is particularly notable—she is the bladder cancer lead within her regional network and currently serves as the urological oncology lead at Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This leadership role highlights her deep knowledge and commitment to excellence in cancer treatment and patient outcomes.
In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Ms Pati is actively involved in medical research, with a particular focus on prostate and bladder cancer. Her contributions aim to refine treatment methodologies, improve survival rates, and enhance patients' quality of life. She also dedicates time to teaching and mentoring junior doctors and specialist trainees, playing a vital role in shaping the future of urological medicine.
Her surgical expertise includes decades of experience in patients with bladder and prostate cancer. She has performedbladder cancer resections, prostate surgery for benign disease which include gold standard transurethral resection (TURP), prostatectomy (surgical removal of the prostate) and robotic aquablation techniques. Additional to this she performs all forms of scrotal surgeries such as radical orchidectomy (removal of testis and spermatic cord for cancer), vasectomy, hydrocele repair, varicocele ligation and the excision of epididymal cysts. She also performs diagnostic investigations such as cystoscopy—a procedure essential for bladder cancer detection and evaluation.
