Details

I provide independent expert witness services in engineering and construction disputes, acting in accordance with CPR-35 duties to the court or tribunal. My role is to assist decision-makers by providing impartial, technically rigorous opinions based on evidence, applicable codes and standards, and established engineering principles.

My expertise covers welding engineering, physical and mechanical metallurgy, non-destructive testing, corrosion, damage mechanisms, fabrication practice, and quality assurance and quality control. I am regularly instructed in matters involving workmanship disputes, alleged defects, compliance with standards and specifications, fabrication and inspection non-conformances, material degradation, failure investigations, and causation.

Both claimants and respondents have appointed me and have engaged me on domestic and international matters, including arbitration and insurance disputes across multiple jurisdictions. My experience includes preparing independent expert reports, responding to opposing expert opinions, participating in joint expert discussions, and preparing joint statements. I am familiar with arbitration, litigation, adjudication, mediation, and insurance claim processes.

My approach is structured, evidence-led, and proportionate. I distinguish clearly between factual matters, technical analysis, and opinion, and I ensure that complex engineering issues are explained in a manner accessible to non-technical readers, including solicitors, counsel, and tribunals.

I accept instructions from solicitors, barristers, insurers, loss adjusters, and corporate clients, subject to conflict checks and confirmation that the instruction falls within my area of expertise.
