Dr. Patrick Doyle is a Consultant Psychiatrist based in Limerick. He is a highly qualified and experienced psychotherapist with recognised clinical expertise in the treatment and assessment of personality disorder, a range of mental health problems (including: depression, anxiety and psychosis), offending behaviour and addiction.
Over the last 20 years, Dr Doyle has provided key psychological interventions to achieve the sustainable rehabilitation and recovery for clients with complex and enduring mental health problems. Specialising in the treatment of addiction, suicide and self-injury, and complex and challenging diagnoses, for example: Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (Borderline Type). In addition, he has provided specialist clinical services, training and consultancy to several key national organisations, including: MIND, Nominet Trust, The Mental Health Foundation, The Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Comic Relief and Bright, as well as many independent mental health providers.
Highly adept in the application of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Integrative Psychotherapy, Psychosocial Interventions (PSI), Schema-Focused Therapy (SFT), and CBT-based therapies.
Dr Doyle has several years experience in preparing Medico – Legal Reports. He is also an author and originator of several treatment programmes and interventions for a range of diagnoses, addictions and offence-related behaviours. With several years experience teaching in U.L. as Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry.
