Mr David Nunns is a Consultant Gynaecological Surgeon based in Nottingham, with specialist expertise in gynaecological oncology, vulval disease, and minimally invasive surgery.

He graduated in Medicine from the University of Manchester in 1991 and completed specialist training in gynaecology across Manchester, Derby, and Leicester. His subspecialist training in gynaecological oncology took place in Adelaide and Leicester, and he was awarded an MD in 1995 for his research on vulval pain associated with vulvodynia.

Appointed as a Consultant in Gynaecology and Gynaecological Oncology at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust in 2002, Mr Nunns is an accredited subspecialist in gynaecological oncology surgery. The Trust is recognised as a certified centre in Advanced Ovarian Cancer Surgery by the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology. He also specialises in robotic-assisted procedures using the Da Vinci® system.

Within his clinical practice, Mr Nunns is part of the gynaecological oncology team managing women with gynaecological cancers. He runs a dedicated vulval disease and vulval pain clinic and is an accredited colposcopist registered with the British Society for the Study of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP).

Mr Nunns has extensive experience as an Expert Witness, undertaking work for the Medical Defence Union (MDU) and the General Medical Council (GMC) Fitness to Practise hearings. He prepares approximately 120–130 medicolegal reports annually, distributed as roughly 64% Claimant, 35% Defendant, and 1% Joint instructions. He has given live expert evidence in court and has completed accredited Expert Witness training.

Mr Nunns has authored over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and contributed seven chapters to leading medical textbooks.
