Dr Chawda specialises in Diagnostic Neuroradiology and Interventional Neuroradiology at BHR NHS Trust in Essex. He was Clinical Director of Radiology from 2004-2008 and 2017-2020.
As a Consultant Neuroradiologist since 2000, he set up the regional Neurointerventional Service at Queens University Hospital, Romford, Essex and was Lead in Neuroradiology there for 20 years.
He is the Lead Radiologist for the Dementia Multidisciplinary Team Meeting at BHRUT and also regularly partakes in the Neurology MDT, Head and Neck Cancer MDT, Thyroid MDT, Orbit MDT, Normal Pressure Hydrocephalous MDT and Skull Base MDT.
Education
Dr Chawda qualified from The University of Wales College of Medicine in 1990 where he was also awarded a First Class Honours BSc in Neurophysiology (1987) He attained the MRCP during junior medical training in Leeds which included 6 months of Neurology.
Following general radiology training in Cardiff, he specialised in Neuroradiology during a two year fellowship in London gaining experience at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, The Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital.
