Forensic Accounting
We can act in an advisory capacity, providing an independent view of the merits of the financial aspects of the dispute, thus allowing parties to achieve an informed outcome.
We can also act as experts and provide our independent opinion for use in formal legal proceedings and tribunals. We are regularly appointed as party expert, for claimant or defendant and as a single joint expert. Our team have extensive experience of giving evidence in court.

Matrimonial
Our forensic accountants have extensive experience of advising on the financial aspects of divorce and children's act matters. We can provide company valuation evidence on the family business, opinion on the ability to extract funds from the business, the income that can be earned from the family business and the capital gains tax implications of a sale or transfer of interests. Our matrimonial reports are prepared by independent forensic accountants who are experienced expert witnesses. Our team have experience of giving evidence at court in support of our findings.

Partner and shareholder disputes

Our team of forensic accountants regularly deal with share valuation, quasi-partnerships, fair value quantification and minority discount arguments within wider partner and shareholder disputes.

Business Valuation
Our forensic team have a wealth of experience in share valuation and business valuation across a wide variety of industry sectors, in different structures and of varying size and complexity. Our valuation work can be carried out as part of contentious dispute resolution matters for example shareholder disputes, or in non-contentious scenarios such as valuations for keyman insurance. We also undertake share valuation work in respect of the restructuring of businesses, shareholder incentive schemes, probate matters, and other areas where share values may need to be agreed with HMRC.

Professional Negligence
Our team of forensic accountants and expert witnesses have experience of advising on the liability and quantum aspects of professional negligence claims. We can provide expert opinion on the negligence of accountants and auditors and the quantum arsing from any negligence causing loss of profits for the business or individual. Our experts have advised on auditors liability in respect of statutory audits under the Companies Acts and have advised on auditors negligence in respect of breaches of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
