Forensic Consultancy
With nearly 30 years’ experience at court reporting level around the world, acting as an independent and impartial expert, providing opinion, guidance, reports and court room live evidence. One of a few trained and authorised experts available in the UK able to provide reports on the latest statistical evaluations of complex DNA mixtures (STRmix) used by Crown laboratories.

Court Attendance
We have extensive experience in providing live evidence and preparing joint reports with Crown experts. We also provide advice on Crown expert questioning and the basis for scientific principles, forensic technologies and methodology, and Crown laboratory quality assurance.
Principle forensic expert James Clery has been providing forensic reports and testimony since 1997. Having worked around the world (Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) New York City, South Africa Police Service (SAPS), Texas (Nuceleogenix LLP), Teddington (Eurofins), Abingdon (Forensic Alliance) at court reporting level he is able to provide expert opinion on issues involving all aspects of forensic biology including DNA (DNA17, Y-STR (male only), mitochondrial DNA, specialist DNA e.g. sequencing for bird of prey), paternity, complex statistics (e.g. 3+ person DNA mixtures), bloodstain pattern interpretation, hairs and fibres, clothing damage assessment, forensic entomology (insects), scene of crime processing including sampling, scenario assessment and Crown laboratory validation and auditing.
James Clery was hired to assist with the validation of LGC Forensics (now Eurofins) scene of crime laboratory, established a Crown DNA testing laboratory (as CEO and CSO) which was acquired by Eurofins, and has extensive experience of laboratory validation, accreditation and techniques and procedures as a scientific ‘grandfather’.
James is very well regarded by customers and Crown forensic providers, and able to put complex issues to the court to assist in its understanding of crucial issues important to a case. Many excellent testimonials of our work are available upon request.
