Dr Mark Cowley is a Chartered Engineering Geologist, Chartered Scientist and Managing Director at Listers Geo.

He has extensive experience in the evaluation, planning and management of geotechnical investigations to BS:5930 and Contaminated Land Assessments to BS:10175. Specialist advisor to Insurance Companies, Local Authorities and County Councils on matters relating to the structural effects of ground related movement. Over thirty years experience in the preparation of detailed technical reports for subsidence claims, foundation design, contamination assessments, slope stability and general geotechnical matters. Specialist knowledge on the detection of desiccation in soils and the evaluation of foundation and structural movement due to the soil structure interaction. Extensive experience of evaluating structural movement of low rise domestic properties due to ground related movement. Responsible for the overall running of the company. Acted as a scrutineer for the Geological Society for applications from Engineering Geologists for Chartered status of the Geological Society. Experienced in preparing expert technical reports in connection with litigation, presenting expert evidence and being cross examined in court.
