Mr Matthew Griggs is a well experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic individual with over 26 years industry experience managing the risk of asbestos and hazardous materials in both the built environment and brownfield contamination. Matthew was previously the Managing Director of the UKs largest asbestos consultancy, with 140 consultants and responsible for 10 regional offices incorporating 5 laboratories.

Matthew acts in the role of expert witness/opinion for asbestos related matters and provides pre-acquisition asbestos due-diligence services together with other bespoke hazardous materials advice. Including assisting licence holders with any enforcement actions taken by the Health & Safety Executive. He has worked and overseen hundreds of projects across many sectors from small surveys and monitoring to major high profile refurbishment and demolition projects incorporating procurement, surveying, design, monitoring, removal and reinstatement. Matthew was an advisor to the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and their appointed site licence holders on asbestos management and remediation works as part of planned and current decommissioning of nuclear power stations.

Matthew is the holder of the Cardiff University Law School & Bond Solon (CUBS) civil expert certificate by virtue of successful completion of the following modules and exams: Excellence in written evidence, Witness courtroom skills training, Cross examination, Civil law and Procedure module 1 and Civil law and procedure module 2.

He continues to remain up to date with industry standards, guidance and regulations through consultations with peer group and Health & Safety Executive (HSE) updates.
