Details

Dr Emma Reynolds is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist specialising in the assessment and rehabilitation of adults with acquired brain injury and neurological disorders. She works within the NHS and independent practice.

In her NHS role, she works as the Clinical Lead for neuropsychological rehabilitation for West London NHS Trust. She is responsible for managing and developing acute and community neuropsychology services for patients with acquired brain injury and neurological disorders.

In her private practice, she is Clinical Director of the Neuro Psychology Clinic. This clinic provides expert neuropsychological assessment, rehabilitation and medico-legal services. She regularly carries out neuropsychological assessments for patients with a range of neurological conditions including traumatic brain injury, brain tumour or infection, stroke and neuro-degenerative disorder.

She provides medico legal reports for solicitors’ firms and agencies and receives instructions from claimants (55%) and defendants (45%). She undertakes around 60 reports per yer. She regularly works with personal injury and clinical negligence cases.

Training

Dr Reynolds completed her undergraduate psychology degree at University College London and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. She then undertook a post-graduate diploma in clinical neuropsychology at the University of Glasgow and was awarded a Distinction. Following this, she obtained the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN), which is viewed as the gold standard qualification for clinical neuropsychology within the UK. She was then offered a place on the Specialist Register in Clinical Neuropsychology (SRCN), which is regulated by the British Psychological Society. Dr Reynolds has completed the Cardiff University Law School Bond Solon Civil Expert Certificate (CUBS). This involved demonstrating core competencies in medico-legal report writing, courtroom skills and cross-examination. She regularly attends CPD events relevant to her clinical and expert witness practice.
