Dr Alan Hodgson

Dr Alan Hodgson is a Consultant Scientist with over 30 years experience in a variety of Printing technologies. His specialist area is Imaging Science, the technologies underpinning photography and the printed image. He is a regular speaker, session chair and teacher at international conferences. Over the last 10 years he has worked as an independent consultant with major industrial companies. He has experience of expert witness work, advising on the Intellectual Property space in inkjet printing.

His key areas of expertise are; Inkjet printing 30 years experience in inkjet technology, working on ink and substrate development plus a wide number of application areas. Previous expert witness work in this area.

Security Printing and Secure documents 7 years recent direct experience in this sector working on digital printing technologies for secure documents. Alan teaches courses on Security Printing and chairs conference sessions and workshops.

Photographic Science 22 years direct experience working in this sector, both in traditional analogue (silver halide) and digital printing technologies.
Image Permanence 10 years experience in the assessment of permanence of printed images.
Printed Electronics 10 years experience in the technologies behind Printed Electronics.
International Standards Over 10 years experience in participation in the work of International Standards spanning a number of technologies.
