An occupational hygienist with 20 years experience, Tracey has worked in the consultancy, industry and regulatory sectors. Within the regulatory framework Tracey was routinely involved in the compilation and/or review of risk assessment reports for the UK competent authority for the Existing Substances Regulations.

She also prepared exposure assessments for use in the UK limit-setting process. Tracey has been a key player in the development of the national strategy on the management of asbestos, providing technical policy guidance on both a national and international basis. Key publications during this work are HSE’s HSG 227 – A comprehensive guide to managing asbestos-containing materials in premises and MDHS 100 which she co-authored. She has also managed research which has led directly to changes in national policy and guidance on the control of asbestos removal work.

Tracey’s experience in the industrial sector is broad, having developed policy and delivery strategies on safety, occupational hygiene and the environment, successfully implementing EN14001 across a multi-site UK company. An excellent communicator, Tracey enjoys training, having developed and delivered numerous courses on a wide range of subjects, for professional courses, bespoke in-house courses and public seminars.

As co-director of a specialist occupational hygiene consultancy, using her wide range of experience in the field of asbestos, Tracey provides expert witness services to clients, preparing expert reports in relation to civil litigation. Tracey has also been supporting a competent authority with its obligations under the Existing Substances Regulations with regard to occupational exposure assessments. These skills are now being used to develop exposure risk assessments for industry sectors under REACH.. She has also advised a Competent Authority on submissions under European legislation.
She has extensive experience and knowledge of measuring exposure to asbestos and retrospectively constructing exposures from incidents and past work activities.

She has acted as an expert for the Court with regards to various civil cases on asbestos working practices and asbestos exposure. Tracey regularly develops and delivers presentations/seminars to professional peers and members of other organisations, such as the Engineering Employers Federation.
