As an independent forensic expert with over 20 years' experience as a Forensic Scientist, Sue Carney-Gannon is highly skilled in the field of forensic biology, including blood pattern analysis, body fluids, DNA evidence and fabric damage. During her career, she has examined evidence in hundreds of criminal cases, both in the UK and internationally, including in legally aided matters.
At the Forensic Science Service (FSS), where she worked from 2001-2011, Sue undertook numerous national audits and was appointed scientific and quality lead for body fluids at the Chorley site.
She also lectured in forensic science at the University of Central Lancashire from 2014-2021, teaching on undergraduate and post graduate courses, and has authored various articles and text book chapters on a range of topics in her field of expertise.
Sue produces clear and thorough reports across a range of offences, such as assaults, murders and sexual offences, and has attended Crown Courts to provide expert advice and testimony on numerous occasions.
