Mr Wale Olarinde

Mr Wale Olarinde is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat, Head and Neck and Thyroid Surgeon with extensive experienceand has practised in the speciality since 1996. He accepts medicolegal instructions nationwide in medical negligence, personal injury, legal aid, mediation and criminal cases.

His broad clinical practice enables him to provide expert opinion across general otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat surgery), head and neck surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, throat and swallowing disorders, sinus and nasal conditions, and injuries affecting the head, neck and facial regions.

Mr Olarinde is a core member of both the North Trent Head and Neck Cancer Multidisciplinary Team, which considers the management of more than 350 new head and neck cancer cases each year, and the North Trent Thyroid Cancer Multidisciplinary Team. He regularly assesses patients in dedicated neck lump, two-week-wait cancer andmultidisciplinary head and neck cancer clinics and performs head and neck cancer surgery at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. He also participates in the on-call rota at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and undertakes surgery for a wide range of benign head and neck conditions, including thyroid and parathyroid surgery.

He lectures on national ENT Masterclass courses in the United Kingdom and internationally and is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Mr Olarinde has given oral expert evidence in the King’s Bench Division of the High Court (2019 EWHC 77 (QB), paragraphs 138–146 and 197) and has also given oral evidence remotely in Crown Court proceedings.

Mr Olarinde holds both the Civil Expert Witness Certificate and the Criminal Expert Witness Certificate awarded by Cardiff University Law School and Bond Solon. He has completed expert-witness training in report writing, the legal aspects of giving evidence in court, expert meetings and the responsibilities of a single joint expert. He regularly attends medicolegal events to keep his expert-witness practice current.
