Dr Mirza Wasi Mohamad

Dr Mirza Wasi Mohamad is as a General Adult Psychiatrist. His clinical work involves assessment and management of range of disorders, particularly mood disorders, bipolar disorders, psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, PTSD, Obsessive compulsive disorders and substance misuse disorders. He also provides cognitive behavioural therapy assessments. He has a specific interest in Substance Misuse Psychiatry, with experience in a busy addiction unit including the management of in-patient detoxification of clients with opiates and alcohol dependence, and relapse prevention programs. He works in close liaison with community mental health teams, GPs and social services, probation services, as well as voluntary agencies. Dr Mohamad has a keen interest in providing expert witness and medico legal services. He has provided opinions and recommendations in the form of court reports for a number of clients with mental health and addiction problems. He has undertaken Expert Witness and medico legal training. He is section 12 approved and has approves clinician status in England and also Wales. Dr Mohamad has practising practices in Nuffield Hospital in Shrewsbury where private clients can be seen usually in evenings. He is approved by various private health insurance companies including BUPA to see their clients.
