Dr Alexander Theodossiadis

Since 1st June 2010 I have been a Consultant Psychiatrist (part time) in Old Age Psychiatry at the Royal Oldham Hospital. Prior to that I was a Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry at North Manchester General Hospital during the period 1974 to 2008, and from January 2009 to June 2010 I was a Consultant Psychiatrist (part time) in Old Age Psychiatry at the same hospital. I am an examiner and a supervisor for the General Medical Council, and have experience in the preparation of medical reports on sick doctors. I have been involved in the preparation of medico-legal reports since 1974, with particular expertise in the assessment of personal injury claims and anti-social behaviour. In line with Continuous Professional Development which has been in operation under the aegis of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since January 1995, I have attended the following relevant courses for medico-legal problems: Medico-legal Report Writing Seminar (by Professional Solutions and Services Ltd) 1997; Recent Mental Health Case Law, Consent to Treatment and Use of Common Law (by Mr R Jones MA, Solicitor) 1997; Giving Expert Evidence for Medical Practitioners (Professional Solutions and Services Ltd) 1998; The New Civil Procedure Rules for Medical Experts “Life after Woolfe” (by Professional Solutions and Services Ltd) 1999; Medico-Legal Expert Witness Course 2011.
