Mr Chitnavis is a Consultant Knee Surgeon based in Cambridge where he manages The Cambridge Knee Clinic.

Mr Chitnavis was a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Cambridge University Hospital between 2002 and 2010. During those years he managed a broad range of knee conditions and general musculoskeletal trauma in patients of all ages. He continues to train students and has undertaken clinical research at Cambridge University and at The Royal College of Surgeons in London.

Mr Chitnavis operates on patients with a wide spectrum of knee disorders including cartilage and ligament injuries and arthritis and has undertaken more than 6500 surgical operations as a consultant surgeon. He has expertise in arthroscopic ('keyhole') and open surgery including cartilage surgery, knee ligament reconstruction (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL), tibial and femoral osteotomy and partial and total knee replacement surgery. He has accumulated experience in hydroxyapatite-coated (HA)  knee replacement as well as revision knee repacement and trauma reconstruction of the knee.

He trained in Oxford and whilst there wrote a Master of Surgery (MChir) thesis on osteoarthritis of the hip and the knee. In addition, he now supervises Anatomy at Cambridge University where he is a Senior Anatomy Demonstrator and Fellow in Medicine.
