Mr John Boucher is Building Envelopes Expert with over 36 years experience in the field. He founded Oculus in 2007 to provide expertise in the envelope/façade sector of the construction industry.
His field of expertise is in building envelopes i.e. facades and roofs of all types including; Facades: curtain wall, rainscreen cladding (aluminium, stone & terracotta etc.), windows and general fenestration, bolted glass, balustrades, masonry (Brick & stone). Roofing: Single ply membranes, built up felt and hot melt as well as glazed roof structures.
Mr Boucher has acted as Expert Witness on a number of cases worldwide, including Moscow, the Middle East, Singapore and the UK. Mr Boucher has given evidence and been cross examined including the Royal Courts, ICC and County Court as well as adjudication in the UK and The High Court of The Republic of Singapore.
Mr. Boucher has also acted as Single Joint Expert. As Expert Witness and Expert Advisor, these cases involve inspection & diagnostics, coordination of testing & provision of remedial scheme/redesign solution of all types of façade failure including weathertightness, structural integrity, thermal and acoustic performance as well as façade fire safety.
