The service is run by a dedicated team of specialists, responding to over 25,000 enquiries a year. Information covered includes types of mental distress, where to get help, drug treatments, alternative therapies and advocacy. We have produced over 100 booklets and factsheets, which are updated regularly to give the latest information on mental health issues. Our database contains details of local Mind associations and other organisations where people can find help in their own areas. We provide a mental health information service to people contacting us by phone, email or letter. We offer information, support and understanding. We seek to empower people, enabling them to make informed choices. We give legal information on mental health issues and can refer people to community legal services if appropriate. We research information that helps us respond to the varying needs of different groups in the community. We ensure confidentiality - no caller's name is kept without permission
