Consultant in Neurological Rehabilitation at the Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust since 1999, dealing with the post-acute rehabilitation and follow-up of neurologically impaired adult patients with acquired brain injury, mainly traumatic brain injury, but also other neurological conditions such as spinal cord pathology or peripheral nerve diseases and multiple sclerosis. I also deal with the assessment and management of patients with minor head injuries in outpatients.
I have a special interest in managing patients with spasticity. Previously the Rehabilitation Medicine Training Programme Director for Health Education North West. I have considerable experience in producing reports on Claimants in Personal Injury claims since 2006. Most of my work (approximately 80%) is on behalf of claimants, with the rest on behalf of defendants.
I also do reports for Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority claims, victims of alleged assault; for insurance companies or employers for occupational ability. I am also experienced in providing independent specialist reviews of patients rehabilitation needs.
