Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust since 2000; working in the specialty since 1991. Mr Seaton is a consultant in a busy obstetric unit with 3500 deliveries per year, with a level 3 neonatal unit attached, giving a high number of complex births.

He was Clinical Director, Womens’ Health, from June 2020 until July 2022.
His special interests are Intrapartum Obstetric Management, Colposcopy, Urogynaecology and Prolapse Surgery.

Mr Seaton is an Internal Professional Advisor to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman. Is also employed by Public Health England as a Clinical Professional Adviser in Colposcopy to the Cervical Screening QA team.

Has attended an extensive number of courses on risk management, consent, obstetric negligence, fetal monitoring, gynaecology and labour ward management, and also report-writing and courtroom skills (resulting in the award of the Bond Solon Certificate in Expert Witness Training).

He has a busy medicolegal practice, writing reports on the instructions of solicitors, coroners, medical defence organisations, NHSR, and the GMC. Mr Seaton has made court appearances as an expert witness on several occasions.

Mr Seaton is available throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland (but does not cover the Irish Republic.)
