During his fellow year he specialized in pain medicine at West Australian Pain Medicine Centre at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital in Perth. In 1999 he established the Hunter Pain Clinic. The Hunter Pain Clinic is a multidisciplinary pain clinic location in Newcastle, Australia. The Clinic is housed in a Specialist Medical Centre with an interdisciplinary group including psychiatrist, rahabilitation medicine specialist, psychologist, pain management program facilitator and physiotherapist. Special Interests include spinal pain, whiplash and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.
Internship Gosford Hospital, Residency Gosford, Hull, Liverpool Hospitals D.A. (UK), Accredited Anaesthetic training John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle 1994-1999, F.A.N.Z.C.A. Fellow year was conducted at the Royal Flying O&G Service, Roma for a six month period, and a further six months at the West Australian Pain Management Centre at the Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital, Nedlands, WA, with Dr Rober Goucke, Dr Paul Graziotti, Dr Tom Berrigan and Dr Lindy Roberts. (The Western Australian Pain Management Centre is an accredited pain unit speciaising in chronic non-malignant and chronic malignant pain).
