Dr Winterton has extensive experience as a witness and as an expert witness in child protection matters and has appeared in the family, district, criminal and children's in this capacity. He specialises in the areas of child sexual abuse and paediatric forensic medicine. He has presented lectures at many venues in WA on the subject of Child Protection. In his general practice he has been involved in ante-natal, obstetrics, paediatrics, general medicine, palliative care and minor surgery.
