Details

Professor of Forensic Genetics specialising in identification of people using DNA and other genetically inherited factors and is a holder of a Diploma in Forensic Statistics. Experienced in both criminal and civil matters, providing reports for the legal profession dealing with human identification and relationship testing, including paternity.

Member of the European DNA Profiling Group (EDNAP), the Forensic Regulator's DNA and relationship working groups and the Home Office Biometric and Forensic Ethics Group. The laboratory offers a wide range of forensic testing, including autosomal and Y-chromosome STRs, mitochondrial DNA, SNPs and other polymorphisms, such as complex blood groups from a variety of trace sources and forensic phenotyping. Working familiarity with laboratory tests in both Haematology and Blood Transfusion. Accredited to ISO 17025.
