Dr Garvey is actively involved in Specialist Surgical Practice with special interests in gastro-intestinal surgery, breast surgery and surgery for chronic groin pain (hernias, musculo-tendinous injuries). He can also provide independent medical opinions regarding individual medical and surgical conditions, together with assessment of permanent impairment and fitness for work. He is an active member of the Medico-Legal section of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and has undertaken courses as an Expert Witness. He is an Approved Medical Specialist (AMS) with Workcover NSW and Tasmania and is also an Injury Management Consultant (IMC) in surgery. Medical negligence cases are handled confidentially and expeditiously.
