Mr Makaram Srinivasan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in sports and upper limb surgery including diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. He is actively involved in teaching and is an honorary lecturer for medical students at Manchester University, The Edge Hill University and University of Central Lancashire. He is on AO Faculty for fractures and injuries to long bones, wrist and hand, since 2001. Mr Srinivasan joined Blackburn Royal Infirmary as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1996. He established the Upper Limb Service Centre at the Royal Blackburn Hospital in 1998. He is a designated trainer of arthroscopic shoulder, elbow and hand surgery. Mr Srinivasan is an examiner of the Intercollegiate Board of Examiners for Royal College of Surgeons in FRCS (Tr & Orth) from 2006 for Intercollegiate MRCS and is also an overseas examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons from 2001. Mr Srinivasan served as a Clinical Director of Orthopaedics from 2004-2007 for Blackburn Royal Infirmary. He has also been the President for the Indian Orthopaedic Association (UK) from 2004-2007.
Mr Srinivasan began his orthopaedic surgery practice in East Lancashire in 1996 after completing a fellowship in upper limb, hand and wrist at Wrightington Hospital. He has won the Ethicon fellowship, the travelling fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons and the AO advanced fellowship to United States and trained under world renowned surgeons in Tampa, Florida at Harvard University, The Barnes and Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Loma Linda University, LA and at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester.
