The Centre for Developmental Disability Studies is a multi-disciplinary research unit working across the University of Sydney's faculties of Medicine, Health Science and Education. It is lead by the Faculty of Medicine's Professor of Developmental Disabilities, Trevor Parmenter. CDDS is staffed by researchers and clinicians with expertise in the areas of medicine, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and education. The centre operates a specialist clinic, providing multi-disciplinary assessment of adults with disability. Specialist staff can provide advice on current, evidence-based rehabilitation practices, together with assessment and recommendations concerning the habilitation needs of individuals with multiple and complex life-long disabilities.
