Dr Lawrence H Jaffey

I am a recently retired (December 2021) Consultant in Accident & Emergency Medicine at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital but remain an Honorary Consultant in that department. I also continue as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool. As a consultant working within a busy A & E Dept, I was responsible for assessing and treating all types of injury and major illness.

I have been involved in medico-legal work for over 25 years, and have been trained in the preparation of medical reports post-Woolf. I have considerable experience of giving evidence in court, and have a busy clinical negligence practice.

I regularly produce reports as an Independent Expert in cases of alleged medical negligence when the allegation is made against those working in Accident and Emergency Departments.

I have prepared over 300 clinical negligence reports in the past three years, with a claimant:defendant ratio of 20:80.
