The creator of the web isn't sold on crypto visionaries' plan for its future and says we should "ignore" it.

Serendipitously, Sir Tim Berners-Lee has just nicely and timeously underscored the keynote presentation, ‘Private Datapods and the Future Web 3.0 Do Not Automatically Mean Blockchain’, that  Dr Stephen Castell CITP CPhys FIMA MEWI MIoD, IT Professional and Expert Witness, will be giving at the B2C'2022 conference on Wednesday 09 November 2022, based on his recently published article in Studies in Social Science Research.

Tim Berners-Lee, the computer scientist credited with inventing the World Wide Web, said he doesn't view blockchain as a viable solution for building the next iteration of the internet.
"In fact, Web3 is not the web at all," he told an audience at the Web Summit tech conference in Lisbon.

Berners-Lee said people too often conflate Web3 with "Web 3.0," his own proposal for reshaping the internet. …
